Our Innovative Journalism Travel Abroad Programs, Also known as study abroad programs, are academic opportunities that allow students to earn credits while experiencing different cultures and parts of the world:
Apprentices will learn how to narrate or write news stories, reviews, or commentary for print, broadcast, or other communications media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, or television. Student may collect and analyze information through interview, investigation, or observation.
Here’s a glimpse of what students will learn during their 90 Day Pre-Apprenticeship Training. These skills will align with their career pathway and updated resumes, and portfolios and presented to employers for (OTJ) Training.
- Write commentaries, columns, or scripts, using computers.
- Coordinate and serve as an anchor on news broadcast programs.
- Examine news items of local, national, and international significance to determine topics to address, or obtain assignments from editorial staff members.
- Analyze and interpret news and information received from various sources to broadcast the information.
- Receive assignments or evaluate leads or tips to develop story ideas.
The apprentice will log into their online account every week to complete the minimum 4-hour weekly RTI Technical Skills and RTI Training Requirement.
